Teddie spent the 35-plus years of her public relations career in community and public relations in a variety of successful ventures.
After nine years as co-founder, advertising director and publisher of The Sun, an award winning Atlantic City regional feature newspaper, it was sold in 1987 and she established O’Keefe Marketing Associates.
In 1998, O’Keefe Marketing Associates merged with Smith & Company to form one of the largest full-service communication agencies in southern New Jersey. Smith O’Keefe & Associates has served regional and national clients in hospitality, tourism, entertainment, sports marketing, banking, transportation, health care, large developments and state government authorities. Among the many clients of the agency were the NJ Casino Reinvestment Authority (CRDA), the Miss America Organization, The Sands Casino Hotel, The Greater Atlantic City Golf Association and the Atlantic City Convention & Visitors Authority, partnering with the global PR firm Weber Shandwick.
Teddie O’Keefe has since offered her experience as a consultant to clients in hospitality, tourism, golf marketing and public relations, major developments and political campaigns. She is a member of AWAI – American Writers and Artists Inc and presently offers copywriting services – news/features, advertorials, e-newsletters, web content, case histories and more.
Headquartered in the Atlantic City region of New Jersey, Teddie actively participates and has served on various boards and organizations for sports, hospitality and tourism, the arts, government and education. They include:

- Board Member: Foundation of Atlantic City Free Public Library
- Executive Board member of the NJ Golf Course Owners Association
- Board Member, The Atlantic City Historical Museum
- Board Member, the SJ Regional Theatre at the Gateway, Somers Point
- Board Member of TLinks, the Tee-Time Reservation System for Golf Destinations on the East and Gulf Coasts
- Served on the Economic Development Commission of Egg Harbor Township NJ for eight years
- Has been a speaker at industry meetings and conferences, such as the NJ Governor’s Conference on Tourism, the National Golf Course Owners Association and Golf INC
